Yvonnick Le Maux wins at Intersuc

Paris, 11th February 2007 - At the 2007 Salon de la Boulangerie, Patisserie, Glacerie - Intersuc, the French selection for the World Chocolate Masters has taken place. The event was followed closely by numerous visitors of the fair, and the press. 

The time schedule for the 7 contestants was very tight. Full of stress, they set up their showpieces, made pralines, pastry and the Mystery Dessert. 

The jury was composed of personalities in the profession, Meilleurs Ouvriers de France and Ambassadors of Cacao Barry and Callebaut: 

Presentation & technical jury : Bruno Cordier, MOF; Serge Alexandre; Patrick Bouvard; Mickaël Nakach; Patrick Roger, MOF; André Rosset, MOF; Philippe Urraca, MOF.

Tasting jury : Serge Granger, MOF; Jean-Claude David, MOF; Philippe Gobet, MOF & director of the Lenôtre School; Frank Lacroix of Le Journal du Pâtissier; Georges Larnicol, MOF; Bernard Leprince, MOF and Guy Urbain of Chocolat & Confiserie Magazine. 

The honorary president of the jury, M. Thierry Atlan, congratulated all contestants, saying "you have  really given the best of yourselves in this contest and, in a certain way, you are all winners in this difficult test and you have all learned something for sure!". Atlan further explained that this contest was an example of elegance, clean work, artistic talents and fine taste. 

Bruno Cordier, President of the jury for Presentation & Technical skills, underligned the difficulty of working in front of a public, which requires enormeous concentration. Serge Granger, president of the jury for Taste confirmed that the atmosphere between the contestants was really fantastic, that each of them had made a lot of investigation and showed great care for the assembling of the showpieces. 

Thierry Charrette, Commercial responsable for Cacao Barry, did a wonderful job entertaining the contest and audience.
